Ingredients (for ~14 cookies)

  • 120g of softened butter

  • 150g of brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 to 2 vanilla pods from Madagascar

  • 200 g of flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 150g of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (dark, milk or mixed)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cream the butter and sugar.
    Whisk the softened butter and brown sugar until you obtain a creamy texture.

  3. Add the egg and vanilla.
    Mix until homogeneous.

  4. Add the dry ingredients.
    Incorporate:

    • flour

    • bicarbonate

    • baking powder

    • salt
      Mix without overworking the dough.

  5. Add the chocolate chips.
    Mix briefly.

  6. Form balls of dough.
    Make balls of about 30–40 g and space them well apart (they will spread).

  7. Cooking time: 10–12 minutes.
    The edges should be lightly golden and the center still soft:

  8. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
    They will flatten and become perfect as they cool.
